Short video explanation of OWR Contest
To make sure both you and OWR are safely following social media guidelines- You must read through the" legalities". By submitting your video you are acknowledging you have read and agree to the terms :)
The platform OWR is using to collect your awesome 4-second video clips is OWR's Facebook page. It is safe for you to upload and allows for yourself and others to "like" the videos, you think, should be part of the commercial!

Make sure you "like" and "follow" OWR's Facebook, so you can follow your clips progress and "like" other clips. We will announce the winners on Facebook and this website, as well. Along with the name you wish to use on your clip, for the finished commercial.
Oregon Wellness Retreat invites you to enter the “What’s Your Wellness?” video clip contest. Submit a brief, 3-6-second, original video on how you create wellness for yourself. From extreme to leisure activities, of all kinds.
Keep in mind: *We will not use the audio of your video on the final project. So, do not talk to the camera. *The “activity” must be able to be replicated by another individual while within 60 miles from Ashland, Oregon. *Any clips showing nudity or brands will be removed and are not eligible. *Include no text or symbols in your clip. *OWR will add text including your name and “Wellness” activity, on the final commercial.
Just to be clear: Yes, we are running this contest through OWR’s Facebook page, but it is in NO way promoted by Facebook. Here is a copy of the Meta “Terms and Policies”, for those interested.
The contest is open to individuals or teams of interested persons of over 18 years of age.

If you are chosen as a finalist, the entrant (s) must:
· Any people in the video who can be visibly recognized must sign an Official Photo/Video Release Form —minors must have parent or guardian signatures.
In addition to the video, complete entries will include:
Videos should run between 3-6 seconds in duration. Winning clips will be cut down to about 3-seconds for the final commercial project.
Entries must be suitable for display to a general audience with respect to language, visual content, presentation, themes discussed, and related issues.
All entries must be completed in English, and videos must include content that is entirely understandable to an English-speaking audience.
The “activity” shown in your clip must be able to be replicated by another individual while within a 1-hour drive from Ashland, Oregon. (Examples that would not qualify: deep sea diving, volcano jumping, space exploration, etc.…)
While the copyright for the video and its content is retained by the entrant(s), entering the contest automatically provides OWR the right to display the video online and/or in any public or private settings without restriction.
Videos must be previously unpublished, original content and must be the sole property of the entrants, not previously submitted to any other contest. Published material includes that which has been posted on the Internet, prior. Videos may include footage shot at the site. No animations or computer-generated clips, please.
Additional Rules: By submitting an entry, the entrant(s) represents that the video is an original work, and the entrant(s) is the sole owner of all rights to the video. The entrant(s) also agrees to allow the Oregon Wellness Retreat to use their name to post on the OWR website, without compensation . Each entrant(s) retains their rights to their video but grants to OWR a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the video, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any OWR purpose, including, but not limited to, education, advertising, and promotion. OWR will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. The Oregon Wellness Retreat, its agents and contractor, are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or postage-due entries. The entrant is responsible for obtaining legal permission to film on the location they have chosen. Contest void where prohibited or restricted by law. OWR reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of OWR are final and binding.
OWR affiliates will choose 10 final winners for each 30-second commercial. Hence, your clips being about 3-seconds each on the final product.
Finalists will be contacted through your FB profile and instructed where to send the original video clip, for further evaluation.
At this time, you will also be instructed to sign any release forms we would need for the final project.
If chosen for the final commercial, your clip will be shown as part of a 30-second commercial, on any platform OWR chooses. Including but not limited to Websites, social media, YouTube, TV stations including streaming services, and public or private events.
You will be amongst the first notified when we have the commercial ready for viewing. And you will receive private links to view. Comes with “Bragging Rights” and your face on the “Big Screen”.
If OWR has a launch party for this commercial, you will receive a private invitation to attend with a “plus one”. Said Launch party would be in or near Ashland Oregon.
This contest will run from May 27th, 2023, at 9am Pacific/Standard time through July 30th 2023 at 9pm Pacific/Standard time.
Contest will be rerun, periodically, to create new and exciting commercial footage. We may keep your entries for a future contest :)
